MIRADEX WOODEN HOUSES
DISCOVER MIRADEX WOODEN HOUSES
The projects below were designed in partnership with Atelier nZEB. The projects serve several scenarios and functionalities. In addition to the minimalist design, the architecture of the houses efficiently combines the functions of the house with the design principles of nZEB (nearly Zero Energy Building). This means south-facing windows and living rooms, a robust volume, adequate thermal insulation, energy efficient windows, and an nZEB standard thermal envelope.
These models of wooden houses will be undergo some, small or large, adjustments depending on the location of the construction site, so that they meet urban requirements and have south-facing windows and living rooms. Moreover, the interior compartmentalization will be adapted to the needs of client. The goal is for you to enjoy a sustainable and energy efficient home, with the lowest possible operating and maintenance costs.
STAGES OF BUILDING A MIRADEX HOME
1
YOU CHOOSE A MODEL
Each model represents a common typology of housing in Romania. You choose a model which will serve as the starting point in your discussion with the architect and the design engineers.
3
WE PRODUCE IN THE FACTORY
Following the project approval and construction permit, the structural elements are produced at our factory in Brezoi. Different degrees of finishing are possible.
2
WE DESIGN
Using your chosen model as a starting point, the architect will adapt the catalogus project to the city planning conditions and your wishes to optimize the functionality and your comfort.
4
WE ASSEMBLE ON SITE
After the structure arrives on site the assembly of the structure begins. Depending on the complexity of the project, this takes 5-7 days. Following this, the roof, façade, windows and the air sealing works.
ADVANTAGES OF A MIRADEX WOODEN HOUSE
There are several advantages to building a wooden house from the Miradex catalogus.
First, the discussion with the architect will start from a more advanced stage and the design process will take less time. This is because of the readily available project specifications for each model. It only needs to be adjusted to the city planning conditions and your wishes.
Second, the catalogus houses include all the paperwork required to meet the nZEB standard: we take care of the resistance project, installation project, and energy conformation. If you desire so, we can also deliver a house certified according to the Passivhaus Institutt in Germany. Atelier nZEB Design Office is certified and licensed as a passive house designer (in addition to nZEB).
Third, at the execution stage, we save you the hassle of building the house to the nZEB standard of energy efficiency. The thermal envelope of the house, at the superstructure level, includes the exterior walls, the roof and the windows. The airtightness component is particularly important, we completely close the house off from the outside.
Last, the execution time is noticeably short. We work with a prefabricated system: the walls, floors and roof structure are made in our factory delivered to the site at a semi-finished stage (at most). Depending on the size and complexity, the production and assembly of the structure of a Miradex house takes between 4-6 weeks.
DISADVANTAGES OF A MIRADEX WOODEN HOUSE
The main disadvantage is the limited freedom at the design process. If you do not like any of the house models you have to start the design process from scratch.
THE COST OF A MIRADEX WOODEN HOUSE
The costs vary from one project to another depending on several factors: the built area, the level of finishing, the systems of installations used, and the foundation. The type of soil greatly influences the cost of the foundation and a geotechnical study is required before starting the technical project. Miradex houses are delivered in two equipment variants: the structure kit and the closed thermal envelope, that is the structure with insulation, façade, windows, roof and the airtightness layer. You can find out more about the cost of each house on their dedicated pages.
